SMS Services, delivering real-time user-requested information to users, anytime, anywhere.
Portnet.com has launched access to vessel arrivals and departures in Singapore via SMS. More features would be available soon after.

This is an inaugural and significant step for the port and shipping industry not only in Singapore, but globally. Making some of the information in PORTNET® available on SMS is truly delivering real-time user-requested information to the fingertips of a much wider range of users. Complemented by the wide-spread availability of mobile phones, we have taken a step towards PORTNET® anytime, anywhere.

This SMS capability will be useful for almost everyone in the industry, but especially so for customers who do NOT already traditionally use PORTNET®: For example, Shipping line operations director can check on arrival/departure of an important vessel by himself/herself without having to call around the operations staff.
