EZShip®
- Masterful steering control
A suite of products facilitating the transshipment processes
of shipping lines. It is customised to the operational
needs of each customer, and is designed to include the
most accepted business practices to ensure higher productivity
and lower costs.
First developed and implemented as a pilot system in
March 1999, EZShip® is a prime
example of new generation IT systems: scalable, Internet-based,
and packed with many automation and intelligence features.
It is designed to automate and minimise the more mundane
and tedious processes in shipping.
Using state-of-the-art Internet technologies,
EZShip® frees staff to concentrate
on higher value activities, such as exception management
and service improvements. The system is seamlessly integrated
with PORTNET®, PSA's B2B port community system.
It can also link with the in-house systems of shipping
lines, thus eliminating data re-keying and ensuring
data integrity and timeliness.
EZShip® has since been enhanced to
be an even more advanced, and fine-tuned system with

Since EZShip® is
Internet-enabled, it is also easily extended to various
globally-distributed offices of the shipping lines(i.e.
via the Application Service Provisioning). Using simply
a personal computer, staff from all over the world would
be able to login remotely to use EZShip®
without any need to first install any client software.
Better co-ordination among offices at different ports
is hence achieved with real-time flow and unified view
of information, ensuring more accurate data, less re-processing
and amendments.

and full leverage of the Internet and its related technologies,
EZShip® transforms notoriously
complex and time-consuming shipping processes into seamless

ALLIES
consists of a suite of modules specifically designed
to facilitate and enhance the collaboration and business
interaction among the shipping alliance members. These
include modules to facilitate load tracking and reporting,
re-selling and subletting of slots, on-line approval
for loading of special containers, and online exchanges
of slots and containers.
The Benefits of ALLIES
- Enhanced collaboration among shipping
alliance members by lowering the enforcement and administrative
costs of their slot sharing agreements.
- Increases the value PSA provides to
the alliances, by strengthening the shipping network
and connectivity, which the MLOs feed on for its wider
route coverage and convergence of cargoes.
The enhanced shipping network, in turn
provides strategic benefit to PSA by preventing unilateral
diversion of the MLOs to competing ports, thereby also
preserving the economic benefits which feed into the
related portions of the Singapore economy.
