CITOS® - Computer Integrated Terminal Operations System

CITOS® is a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system specializing in real-time command and control of information and resources for container terminals.

Powering the world's largest container transhipment hub in Singapore, CITOS® issues instructions for over 40,000 container moves every day with a high level of accuracy and efficiency

It integrates planning room PCs, PCs on-board cranes, graphics workstations and various database and planning servers via a real-time communication network of fibre optic cables and wireless data transmitters. All components work together to cater for every aspect of the terminal's operations.

CITOS® is like no other port operating system

  • It is the operation system of world's leading container terminal operator, PSA, year after year, to managing high volume of containers going through Singapore.
  • CITOS® offers of products by modules to serve every need of a container terminal whenever the need arises. It covers all aspects of port operations, from planning to operations to performance measurements to equipment maintenance at the gates, berths, and yard, up to the stowage on the vessels.
  • It employs state-of-the-art operations research and artificial intelligence to optimise every process.
  • It has an award-winning Flow-Through gate system that allows trucks to clear the in-gate in under 25 seconds.
  • It offers auto-planning features that cut the planners' task from hours to minutes and also provides pro-active alerts to simplify operations to one of exception management.
  • CITOS® is supported by PSA's on-going IT research and development. It was selected as a Laureate and archived in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History's Permanent Research Collection, and further short-listed as a finalist of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in April 2000.
