PSA’s Portnet.com Invests in iPlanet's E-Commerce Solutions to Value-Create IT Innovations for Customers

iPlanet e-Commerce Solutions, a Sun-Netscape Alliance, today announced that Portnet.com Pte Ltd will invest in e-commerce solutions, provided by iPlanet. The move aims to boost Portnet.com’s e-commerce capabilities to serve its customers even better. The agreement was signed today by Mr Steve Furney-Howe, Vice-President Asia Pacific, iPlanet e-Commerce Solutions and Mr Robert Yap, Managing Director, Portnet.com Pte Ltd.

iPlanet, Portnet.com and SUN Microsystems Inc had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding in May this year.

Under this agreement, iPlanet will collaborate with Portnet.com to develop an organisational and architectural model that will drive its new suite of Internet initiatives. iPlanet will also tailor its software, which includes the iPlanet Application Server 6.0, Portal Server, Messaging Server and Directory Server, to support Portnet.com’s system requirements. In addition, iPlanet will serve as a strategic technology partner and consultant to Portnet.com.

Together with leading edge e-integrators Frontline Solutions and ORIGIN, iPlanet's e-commerce solutions will ensure a common, consistent user experience for customers using Portnet.com’s different applications. The solutions would also allow customisation as well as greater scalability and reliability for Portnet.com’s e-commerce infrastructure.
